Being raised in an Italian American household, I discovered at an early age the words company, crowd, guests and party are synonymous with pasta. And with good reason. Overflowing and mammoth sized servings of aromatic pasta are simple to throw together and instant crowd pleasers. Here are some of our favorite pasta recipes for large-scale entertaining:
Lasagna: Hearty and rich, lasagna is a baked pasta classic that can be prepared ahead of time and reheated prior to serving. We suggest using no-boil lasagna noodles to simplify the recipe. Click the image above for a lasagna with Cheddar cheese recipe.
Stove Top Servings: If you prefer a traditional pasta toss, choose a sturdy noodle such as penne or rigatoni and boil the appropriate amount al dente—firm to the bite. Coat the pasta in your favorite creamy sauce so the noodles don’t become sticky and clump together when presented in a large serving container. Finally, toss with anything from chicken to seafood to veggies.
Pasta Casseroles: Pasta is a breeze to boil and bake in less structured tetrazzinis and ziti bakes. Typically these dishes are a medley of creamy cheeses, pasta, meats and vegetables. Like lasagna, pasta casseroles can be easily prepared ahead of time making them party-perfect. Click the image above for a chicken tetrazzini recipe.
