The Big Dipper

big dipper

Dip into any of these refreshing frozen yogurts that are full of flavor, not fat. They’re a cinch to make, too. Simply whisk the yogurt, sugar and fruit together, and freeze. All you need is an ice cream maker. (We like the electric models that come with canisters to keep in the freezer.)

Berry Frozen Yogurt
Combine 3 cups fresh mashed berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries or blackberries), 1 cup sugar and 4 cups low-fat vanilla yogurt. Place in ice cream freezer.

Mocha Frozen Yogurt
Combine 1 pint chocolate milk, 2 cups low-fat vanilla yogurt, 2 teaspoons cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon
instant espresso powder or instant coffee and 1/4 cup sugar. Place in ice cream freezer.

Buttermilk Peach Frozen Yogurt
Combine 3 cups mashed, peeled peaches, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 2 cups each buttermilk and plain yogurt, and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract. Place in ice cream freezer.
