- 1 to 1.5 tablespoon oil
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- 1 dry red chili - broken and deseeded or 1 green chili, chopped
- 3 to 4 garlic - crushed with their peels or chopped
- 1 pinch asafoetida (hing)
- 300 grams pumpkin (kaddu) - cubed or chopped
- 1 pinch turmeric powder
- 1/4 cup grated coconut
- salt as required
- 1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
