  • 4 cups (950ml) whole milk, plus extra to adjust consistency (see note)
  • 7 ounces (1 1/3 cups; 200g) cooked long- or medium-grain white rice
  • 1/4 teaspoon Diamond Crystal kosher salt; for table salt, use half as much by volume
