 - 11/2 cups all-purpose flour divided
 - 1/2 cup cornstarch
 - 11/2 teaspoons baking powder
 - 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
 - 1 teaspoon granulated onion
 - 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika
 - 1 teaspoon Kosher salt plus 1/2 teaspoon more for seasoning the fish
 - 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
 - 1 to 11/4 cup light beer
 - 11/2 quarts vegetable oil for deep frying
 - For Assembling the Sandwiches:
 - 4 toasted brioche buns
 - 4 leaves of fresh lettuce
 - tartar sauce
 - 1/2 cup shredded red cabbage
 - 1/2 cup shredded green cabbage
 - Kosher salt salt to taste
