- 1 (14.5 ounce) can fire-roasted diced tomatoes
- 1 (16-ounce) jar prepared tomatillo (green) salsa about 1 1/2 cups
- 3–4 cups low-sodium chicken broth divided
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 pinch ground cloves
- 1 (15-ounce) can white hominy, drained
