Creamy Mushroom Soup

• 16 oz. mixed fresh mushrooms, some diced finely and others left in larger pieces
• 2 Tablespoons olive oil
• 6 cloves garlic, minced
• 2 Tablespoons butter
• 2 Tablespoons chopped fresh thyme or 1 teaspoon dried thyme
• 3 bay leaves
• 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
• 2 cups chicken stock
• 2 tablespoons cornstarch dissolved in 2 Tablespoons water
• 1 1/2 cups whole milk
• 1/2 cup heavy cream
• Dash nutmeg
• Salt and pepper to taste
